In this step, you define the sort criteria for shipping document type categories for individual plants (also for shipping document type groups if desired).
You can define different scopes of sort criteria according to the shipping document type category.
Note: The sorting control only affects the sort to the level of the shipping document type (to shipping document type level). Sorting of shipping documents cannot be controlled flexibly at a more detailed level since it is fixed in the program logic of the function module.
Technically, the shipping document sorting control determines the order in which the function modules are called up for the individual shipping document types.
Sorting control can either be defined generally for a shipping document type category or restricted to a particular shipping document type grouping.
Example
The sorting control for address labels is defined in the appropriate function module. Sorting can only be controlled to edition level in this case. The sort algorithm in the function module applies in the address labels for a particular edition.
Activities
- Specify the plant for which the sorting control for shipping documents is to apply.
- Specify the shipping document type.
- If you wish, you can specify the shipping document type grouping for which the sorting control is to apply.
- If you want to sort the shipping documents for subroutes below those for the main truck route when dealing with truck route-oriented shipping document type categories, you must select the indicator provided for this purpose.
- Define the sort sequence numbers for the sorting control created on the main screen.
