In this step, you define the possible vehicle types for maintaining truck route contracts. A vehicle is defined by the following data:

  • Loaded weight (according to unit of loaded weight)
  • Tolerance (according to unit of loaded weight)
  • Unit of loaded weight
  • Language
  • Short and long text

The vehicle type (loaded weight and tolerance) helps you recognize if a truck route is overloaded when processing problem routes.

In a further step, you define the reasons for use of a different vehicle. These are required when maintaining daily truck routes to specify why a vehicle type specified in the truck route contract was not used.

Example

The vehicle type 'Truck 7.5 t' might have a loaded weight of 6 tonnes and a tolerance of 1.5 tonnes.

Activities

  1. To create the required vehicle types, please proceed as follows:
    1. Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 3 characters.
    2. Specify the loaded weight in the desired unit of weight. Decimal places are allowed.
    3. Specify the tolerance between the specified loaded weight and the maximum loaded weight allowed in the desired unit of weight. Decimal places are allowed.
    4. Specify the unit of loaded weight.
    5. Specify the language key for the texts.
    6. Enter the appropriate short and long text.
  2. To create the reasons for different vehicles, please proceed as follows:
    1. Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 2 characters.
    2. Enter the appropriate long text.
    3. If applicable, select the indicator denoting that the reason for the different vehicle is relevant for settlement.
