WBZ inbound processing receives the data entered in a logical inbound file. The error records created are gathered in a logical error file. You must set up a logical file for outbound processing.
A logical file hides details of the physical file name from the user as well as protecting the file system by preventing unauthorized access to other files.
To use a logical file name for inbound and outbound WBZ data, you must perform the following steps:
- Definition of logical file paths
Here, you specify the logical file path.
- Assignment of logical and physical file paths
Here, you assign the physical file path to a logical file path (depending on the syntax group).
- Definition of client-independent file names
Here, you define a logical file name by assigning a logical file path and a physical file name. See the F1 help on the physical file to find out which variables can be replaced in the physical file name.
In WBZ processing, parameter <PARAM_1> is replaced by the computer center number and <PARAM_2> by the report parameter Date in file name.
