In this step, you assign each region a county municipality key. This assignment is the prerequisite for having the system determine the region automatically when creating addresses.
At present, only the German postal service (Deutsche Post AG) uses a county municipality key, so that this assignment is only possible for Germany (country key 'DE'). However, the same kind of structure would also be possible for any other country.
Requirements
In order to use the function determining the region automatically, you should select the indicator Region automatically in the step Maintain general IS-P control parameters in addition to the assignment made in this step.
Activities
To define a new assignment, please proceed as follows:
- Choose the country key 'DE'.
(County municipality keys are currently only available in the data available from the German postal service.) - Choose the county municipality key.
Tip for search utility: enter the name of the county municipality in block capitals. - Choose the record type of the county municipality key (municipality, county, federal state or administrative district).
- Choose the region (federal state).
