If a number of condition records are valid for the document item for pricing, you can define rules that determine which condition records are selected and which are ignored. This can be done using condition exclusion.
The exclusion of condition records is controlled by exclusion groups. An exclusion group is a list of condition types that are compared during pricing and lead to the exclusion of an entire group or of individual condition types in a group.
This enables you to influence the result of pricing according to criteria of your choice (for example, the lowest price) by excluding certain condition types and taking others into account during pricing.
Example
You could define a condition exclusion that determines the lowest price for the customer and excludes possible pricing results that are more expensive. The lowest price then raises the condition type priority, which would have been predefined by the access sequence.
The procedure by which the selection takes place in or among the condition exclusion groups is defined in the pricing procedure. The following procedures are possible:
- Selection of the best condition type from a condition exclusion group
- Selection of the best condition record for a condition type if there are other valid condition records
- Selection of the best of two condition exclusion groups (in this case, all condition types in the two groups are cumulated and the totals are compared)
- Exclusive procedure: If the document contains any condition types from the first group, all condition types in the second group are removed.
The tables for condition exclusion contain no entries in the standard delivery. You must therefore carry out the following steps if you want to use condition exclusion:
- Define condition exclusion groups
- Assign condition types to the condition exclusion groups
- Enter the condition exclusion groups in the pricing procedure and define a procedure for determining the condition types to be excluded
Activities
- Create a condition exclusion group by entering an alphanumeric key of up to 4 characters and a text.
- Assign the condition types to an exclusion group. An exclusion group can contain any number of condition types.
- Enter the exclusion group in the pricing procedure you use in pricing. Please pay attention to the order (access number) in which the exclusion groups are to be processed.
You can use two exclusion groups for condition exclusion. In this case, you must choose the procedure that determines the best price from the two exclusion groups.
