In this step, you define the formulas for pricing in order processing and billing.
Formulas are represented as FORM routines and used as such within pricing.
You use the formulas to define rules for determining prices. The formulas you define in this step will be used at different points to control pricing. The following groups of formulas exist:
- Scale base value
The FORM routines in this formula group take account of criteria not defined in the standard system when determining the scale base value. The scale base value is specified in the field Scale formula when condition types are defined.
Example: A formula for the scale base value determines that the number of subscriptions per customer is to be taken into account.
- Condition basis
The FORM routines in this formula group take account of criteria not defined in the standard system when determining the condition basis. They are entered in the field Basis formula in the pricing procedure.
Example:
A formula for the condition basis determines that the net value is the basis for condition determination.
- Condition value
The FORM routines in this formula group take account of criteria not defined in the standard system when determining the condition value. The formulas for determining the condition value are entered in the field Calculation formula in the pricing procedure.
Example:
A formula for the condition value determines that the system is to find the lowest price for the customer.
- Group key layout
The FORM routines in this formula group affect the determination of the basis for the scale base value if a group condition is used in pricing. The system calculates the basis for the scale base value from more than one document item. The routines can be specified in the field Group condition routine when defining the condition types.
Example:
A routine for determining the scale base value determines that only one particular condition type is taken into account.
- Rounding rules
The FORM routines in this formula group perform a certain type of rounding in condition records during pricing.
Example:
A rounding rule rounds a price in a condition record that was raised by 1% up to two decimal places.
Activities
- Check whether you can use the formulas in the standard system.
- Change existing formulas if required.
- To define your own formulas, please proceed as follows:
- Specify a group number.
- The group number must be in the number range interval 600 - 699, which is reserved for customer modifications.
- Enter a text.
- Create the desired formula using the Editor.
- Activate the formula.
- Enter a long text that describes the meaning of the formula in more detail.
- Specify the application in which you want to use the formula exclusively.
- Enter the formula in the appropriate position in pricing control.
