In this step, you define the possible audit report types.

The audit report type defines the regulations for circulation auditing. The report type is used to classify circulation figures for an edition, update them in statistics files and evaluate them in reports.

You can define the following for each audit report type:

  • Descriptive texts
  • Controlling programs if the standard programs do not meet your requirements:
    • Function module used to propose default audit report categories and determine allowed categories in order maintenance
    • Program used to update the delivery data in the circulation book
    • Function module used to update backdated order changes (which may also affect the audit report category) in the circulation book
    • Function module used to update data on returned copies in the circulation book
    • Function module used to check the time of the assignment of returned copies in the circulation book (the return date is copied as standard; if the check result is negative, the user must enter a different date when recording returned copies)
    • Program used to manage audit reports (this program records audit reports with the auditing period on the database; these audit reports can be interpreted by the function module just described)
    • Function module used to determine the content of customer-specific characteristics (optional: can be specified if customer-specific characteristic fields are to be used; the standard delivery contains function module ISM_JITCIRCBOOK_CFIELDS_EXAMPL as a sample and copying template) for deliveries and returned copies that are to be updated.
  • Relevancy of various characteristics (attributes from orders) for circulation book; the various attributes of characteristics you select here are taken into account in the circulation book update (in the standard programs), i.e. these selected characteristics determine the most detailed expansion level of the circulation book
  • Postal code area variant if 'PCode area relevant' is marked as a relevant characteristic; this variant is then used to determine postal code areas during update

Note

The interfaces are fixed for the function modules entered here. If you want to enter your own function modules here, they must have an interface structure that corresponds to that of the standard function modules (e.g. for ABC).

Note

The content of the maximum of 4 possible customer-specific fields must be determined by a function module, which can be set up in this step along with the relevance of the 4 fields. The interface of your function module must be the same as that of the example function module named above. Please also note that the delivery or return data is entered in the function module interface when it is accessed, depending on the document to be updated.

The control options for the audit report types IVW and WEMF are still limited since the programs for these audit report types have a fixed logic.

Standard settings

The following audit report types are supported in the current standard version of IS-M/SD:

  • IVW (Germany)
  • WEMF (Switzerland)
  • ABC (USA)

You can also add or delete audit report types as of Release 4.02. However, when doing this, you must ensure that the update programs and function modules you enter here meet the requirements of the audit report type in question.

Caution

The keys of the audit report types IVW and WEMF are still used in many programs in the current Release. Please note that you must not change the meaning and control settings for these keys (IVW = 01; WEMF = 02) for this reason.

Further notes

The audit report type is referenced in the following places:

  • Audit report categories

An audit report category can be used for one audit report type only.

  • Basic audit report category default for IVW and WEMF

A category default always refers to one audit report type only. An alternate default table is used in the standard system for ABC.

  • Circulation audit hierarchy type

A hierarchy can only be used for one audit report type. This is defined when the hierarchy type is maintained.

  • Edition

An edition can only be audited according to one audit report type. The audit report type can be changed in the edition provided no orders (with the appropriate category) have yet been created.

To change the audit report type afterwards, the sales orders already entered in the system must be categorized.
