In this step, you define your account keys and assign them to the condition types in the pricing procedures.

You use account keys to group similar accounts in Financial Accounting. The system uses the account key to search for the G/L accounts.

This means you can assign a separate account key to each condition type within a pricing procedure in order to carry out more detailed expense account determination.

Example

You might assign remuneration for commission recipients to the expense account for commission.

Note

Define the account keys in cooperation with Financial Accounting (FI).

Precondition

You should have defined the pricing procedures (see the section Pricing in Media Sales and Distribution - Demand Billing for Commission).

Standard settings

The account key for commission expenses is predefined in the standard system.

Activities

  1. Find out whether you can use the standard settings for the account keys.
  2. To create account keys, please proceed as follows:
    • Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 3 characters.
    • Enter a text.
  3. Assign the expense account keys to the condition types in the pricing procedures.

    When doing this, you can call up a where-used list of the account keys. This list indicates the condition types to which an account key was assigned in particular pricing procedures.
