In this step you deactivate the availability of functions per program and screen.
You can deactivate Function each function as follows:
- according to the transaction code
- according to the transaction type
- according to the user group
Both the transaction code and the transaction type can be left blank or marked with a cross. That particular entry will then apply to all characteristics.
If you want the user group to apply to all characteristics, then it should be marked with a cross. If the user group is left blank, then this means that the function is only deactivated for users who have not been assigned to a user group in their user master record.
You can deactivate functions to prevent unauthorized users gaining access to them.

You can find more information about a function code by placing the cursor on the function when executing a program, clicking and holding the left mouse button, and pressing the F1 help button at the same time. This brings up the help screen and you can find information about the function code under technical information.
