In this step you define ID codes for date combinations.

Date combinations can be used to combine booking units that are published on various dates. A distinction is made betweeen fixed and flexible date combinations in the system.

  • A fixed date combination is published in defined booking units on specific dates such as Wednesdays and Saturdays in the Local North booking unit.
  • A flexible date combination is published in defined booking units with a particular number of placements, such as twice in the Local North booking unit and once in the Local South booking unit.

You must create ID codes for fixed and flexible date combinations. In conjunction with a higher-level booking unit, the ID code is used to describe the date combination uniquely.

You create the date combinations in the product master data in the Booking component.

Activities

  1. Establish which features are relevant for characterizing ID codes for date combinations.
  2. To create the ID codes required, please proceed as follows:
    1. Specify an alphanumeric key of up to six characters for each ID code.
    2. Enter a short and long text.
      3. The system offers you the short text for selection in the possible entries function (F4).
    3. Select the Flexible date combination indicator if you do not want to define publication dates for the date combination in advance.
    4. Select the Generate schedule lines manually indicator if you want the dialog box for manual schedule line generation to appear automatically when you enter orders.
