In this step you define ad insert categories that categorize your ad inserts with regard to their external appearance.

Assign a 2-character alphanumeric key.
Maintain the short and long text.
Specify whether these ad insert categories are linked to a publication. Depending on the entries in this field, you can display or hide specific publication fields (paper weight etc) when maintaining ad inserts of this ad insert category.
If ad inserts of this ad insert category are to be maintained as media products, you should specify the material type and industry sector to be used if an ad insert is created from the order. You can also specify values for the postal format, base unit of measure and extent unit of measurement that are used as default values if an ad insert of this AI category is created from the order.
SAP recommends creating new AI categories here as opposed to using existing AI categories for media product ad inserts.
