In this step you define the condition types.
Condition types are used to reproduce price elements in the SAP System. Price elements can be prices, surcharges, discounts or taxes and are created in condition records in the system.
You specify an access sequence in each condition type. This determines which fields will be used by the SAP System to search for a valid condition record.
SAP recommendation
- If you define your own condition types, the key should begin with the letter Z, since SAP reserves these name spaces in the standard system.
- You should not change the condition types which are supplied in the SAP standard system.
Activities
- Establish the extent to which you are able to use the condition types contained in the SAP standard version.
- Enter an alphanumeric key of up to 4 characters and a descriptive text for each condition type.
- Specify an access sequence for the condition types.(You must not define an access sequence for header conditions)
- Maintain the condition type detail screen.
If you have very similar condition types, you have the option of assigning a reference condition. It is then only necessary to maintain condition records for the reference condition type.
You also have the following option:
- You can define upper and lower limits for a condition value at condition type level. This allows you to restrict amounts or scale values in the associated condition records.
Special features of revenue distribution in IS-M/AM
You should also create condition types for revenue distribution for all condition types from order/billing pricing for which you wish to perform revenue distribution. Condition types must have the same names so that they can be assigned during revenue distribution. Condition records should be defined as a percentage surcharge or discounts.
