You define tax relevance with the tax classification indicator in the master data:

• Tax classification for customers is valid for each sales area.
• Tax classification for materials is valid at the level of sales organization/distribution channel/plant.

Actions

1. Check the extent to which you can use the tax classifications in the standard R/3 System.
2. Define for customer master records the tax classification indicators for each tax category.
3. Define for material master records the tax classification indicators for each tax category.
4. Make sure that the indicators are entered in the master records.
