If the scales for contract discount and bonus, depending on the target quantity, change over the course of time, you must determine from which scale the final discount or bonus granted is to be taken for contract settlement.
Value range
You can make the following specifications:
'0'
The valid scale for the service date is selected for each service.
'1'
The scale from the start of the contract validity period is selected for all services. However, the scale that is valid for each service (as in '0') is selected for contracts with automatic discount adjustment ("rolling discount").
'2'
The scale from the end of the contract validity period is selected for all services. However, the scale that is valid for each service (as in '0') is selected for contracts with automatic discount adjustment ("rolling discount").
'3'
The scale from the start of the contract validity period is selected for all services even if automatic discount adjustment applies. If your scales do not vary, you should set this value to exclude multiple accesses to discount conditions under all circumstances.
Each specification has a date from which it is valid until a new specification comes into effect.
Example
It is Summer 1998. Your discount scales will improve (from your customer's perspective) on 1.1.1999. If you want to allow customers with contracts that are valid from the middle of 1998 to take advantage of the more favourable conditions earlier, you should determine that from 1.1.1999 the scale should be selected from the end of the validity period.
If your discount scales become more unfavourable again on 1.1.2000, but you wish to allow your customers to continue to take advantage of the more favourable conditions beyond this date, you can also determine that from 1.1.2000 the scale is to be selected from the start of the contract validity period.
