In this step you define the format proposals ad type. These are descriptions of frequently used ad sizes.

You record the short text for the format proposal for the possible entries function (F4), together with a long text, under a key. You can then create additional descriptive data. You enter the key for the proposed format when describing the ad spec.

Activities

  1. Establish which format proposals you want to use in your organization.
  2. To create the format proposal required, please proceed as follows:
    1. Assign an alphanumeric key of up to 4 characters for each format proposal.
    2. Enter the short text for the possible entries function (F4).
    3. Enter the long text.
    4. Select the respective indicator if your proposed format is gutter bleed, bled or multi-page
    5. If you want to use the format proposal hierarchy to explode your proposed format into format proposals for each page and sub ad spec, you should select the respective indicator.
    6. If the proposed format describes the size of the ad spec adequately, meaning that no additional entries are required from the user, you should select the respective indicator.
    7. If you want to group together your format proposals for pricing, you should specify an ad type format grouping.
    8. If the proposed format is only to be valid for particular sales areas, you should select the sales area restriction indicator. You can specify the restriction in the next step.
