In this step, you maintain the business partner roles for both the industry-specific components for the media industry (Media Sales and Distribution and Advertising Management).

You have the following options for doing this:

  • You can modify the texts for the business partner roles to meet the requirements of the media industry
  • You can create new roles using the customer name range (Y*, Z*). This maintenance option is intended for Advertising Management.

The texts for the roles are displayed at certain points in the system when you are working with the Media components.

Standard settings

The standard system contains all roles used in the Media components. The identification keys for these roles cannot be deleted.

Recommendation

  • You are advised to use the existing roles principally.
  • If you use roles in message control, you should also maintain the role IDs in the standard system (table TPAR).

Activities

  1. Check whether the texts used correspond to the terms normally used in your company.
  2. Change the texts if necessary.
  3. If you need to create a new role, please proceed as follows:
    • Enter an alphanumeric key of up to 2 characters. The key must begin with Y or Z (customer name range).
    • Enter a short and long text for each key.

Further notes

Changes to the texts have no effect on menus.
