In this step, you define the number intervals for the number range for employment relationships.

Every employment relationship is created under a unique key. You can only define an internal number range for key assignment.

When you create an employment relationship, the system automatically assigns a sequence number from the internal number range as the key.

Transport

You transport number range objects as follows:

Choose Interval -> Transport in the accounting document Number Range screen.

All intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.

Dependent tables are not transported or converted.

Standard settings

The standard setting is "0000000001 to 0009999999".

Recommendation

You are advised not to change the standard setting.

Activities

To define a number range, you need to specify a number interval (or several number intervals). To do this, you must proceed as follows:

  1. Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 2 characters for each number interval.
  2. Specify the limits of the number interval (numbers from and to).
The individual number intervals should not overlap. A number can only be used once in each number range.

Note

The use of the number range intervals can be defined under General Settings -> Definition of Number Range Usage.
