In this step, you define the function modules for country-specific address maintenance.

You assign the function module to your country key, assign priorities for various address variants and determine whether or not the system is to display a warning when an uncoded address is created.

The function module for address maintenance checks addresses when they are created and edited as well as when they are in use by the Media Sales and Distribution programs.

You assign priorities to determine which address variant is preferred for printing or display in sales documents.

If the SAP Business Partner is active in IS-M, the interface used for the modules for the address check changes. The address checks are performed as standard using the module ISM_GENERIC_ADDRESS_CHECK. This module is entered during migration for all the countries for which you have specified an address check.

Example

The function module ISP_ADDRESS_CHECK_GERMANY is used to check the addresses used in Germany in the industry-specific components for Media (if the SAP Business Partner is not active). An address variant containing a street and a city is preferred to that containing a postal code and city, if available. If neither of these variants exists, the variant containing the major customer's postal code applies.

Precondition

The function module that is valid for your country must be maintained.

Activities

  1. Column Cty

    Choose the country key for your country.

  2. Column Address check function module

    Specify the function module for your country.

  3. Column PS

    Define the priority of the address variant containing a street.

  4. Column PP

    Define the priority of the address variant containing a P.O. box.

  5. Column PM

    Define the priority of the address variant containing a major customer's postal code.

  6. Column Warning off

    If required, select the indicator for warning messages when uncoded addresses are entered.
