In this step, you transfer the ZIP+4 file into the system. This file contains streets, postal codes, postal code-city assignments and P.O. boxes.

Although the CSP file is available as a data file, the ZIP+4 file is made up of 928 individual files. These files are named according to the following convention (as July 1998):

File name = XXX.TXT

(XXX = first three characters of the postal code on which the file contains data)

This naming convention means the import program can generate the file names for the ZIP+4 files sequentially and process the individual files in succession.

Requirements

The CSP file should already be imported.

Activities

Execute the program as follows:

  1. Enter the following data:
    • Country
    • States (from - to)
    • Number of records for database commit
    • Code page start
    • Code page destinatino
    • Logical file name
    • Version number of file imported
  2. Choose Execute.

You can restart the program at any time.
