Use

If you want to use billed values and quantities from SD product sales as the basis for calculating outgoing royalties in Intellectual Property Management (IPM), you must make the following settings:

  • Subscreen 2060 in function group JPMM must be incorporated in material master maintenance for determination of the Intellectual Property. The Intellectual Property for the billing item is determined from the Intellectual Property recorded in the material or media product master for the billing item.
  • To determine the following data, you must make a corresponding Customizing setting or perform a corresponding BAdI implementation:
    • Attributes for the royalties key
      • Two options are available to you for determining attributes. You can either define rules for determining attribute values in the Define Attribute Mapping IMG activity. You can also define rules in an implementation of the Business Add-In ISM_ATTRIBUTE_MAP. If the rule is not defined for an attribute in the Define Attribute Mapping IMG activity, the Business Add-In is accessed.
    • A value or quantity including the currency or unit of measure for each billing item and data value.
      • Create an implementation for the Business Add-In ISM_IPM_MAP_BILL_DOC to determine values and quantities.
  • During saving following creation, change or deletion of a billing document, output control triggers timely transfer of the billing document to the OR data collector.

    SAP provides message type JINV to control the OR data collector. This message type is used in message determination procedure V10000. To activate the OR data collector, you must create a message condition record for each billing type for which data is to be transferred to IPM. Do not create message condition records for billing types that are not to be transferred to IPM such as invoice lists, since these are not usually included in the calculation of royalties.

  • To copy data from the OR data collector into the settlement data collector in IPM, access the initial data transfer for the IPMBEAPRDSLS business object.
