In this step, you create the media product for the corresponding edition.

Recommendation

Please ensure that the customer-specific characters (in the user exit for material number assignment) in the names of the different media products are different.

Example: The standard system contains a model that makes up the material number of the media issue from the first four characters of the media products and the date. In this case, you must ensure that the first four characters are different for all media products.

Activities

Enter the corresponding edition manually on the tab page Subscription Sales and Distribution and maintain the relevant data. Synchronization with the periodical product master is not active.

Further notes

  • The publisher must be an SAP business partner since it cannot otherwise be copied into the media product.
  • The fields ISSN, ISBN and Postal Distribution Indicator are recorded as ID codes in the media product.
  • If synchronization is to take place with Periodical Sales and Distribution, you must choose a material type for which product synchronization is active for the media product.
  • If synchronization is to take place with Periodical Sales and Distribution, the material key for the media product must not have more than eight characters.
