In this step, you define the variants of the IAC Create Internet User.

Requirements

Before you can make these settings, you must carry out the step Identify and Check Business Partners under Internet Application Components.

Activities

Maintain the data required under a key of your choice.

  • Enter a description of the specification. The description does not control processing but simply makes for more transparency. For example, the description can indicate the general process flow of the variant.
  • Choose the setting for identifying and checking business partners. To do this, specify a combination maintained in the appropriate Customizing step - represented by your key. This determines where logon takes place (on the logon screen or the form for creating the Internet user) and which fields are to be used.
  • Specify in the User name field whether the business partner is to choose their own user name or whether the name is to be generated by a function module. (This is only relevant if you are using the SU01 Internet user. Otherwise, the 'User name' field has no significance.)
  • If you want the user name to be generated, enter the function module for generating the alias/user name in the following field. (This is only relevant for SU01 Internet users.) You can use function module ISM_WWW_ALIAS_GENERATE as a template - you must use the interface used here for customer-specific function modules.
  • In the Password/Access field, you can specify whether the customer is allowed to choose and enter their own password or if the password is to be generated by the system. In the latter case, you can also choose whether to display the password for the customer on the confirmation screen or send it to them via e-mail (if you choose the latter, the 'E-Mail' field becomes a required field).
  • Define the process for confirming the e-mail address. It may be that the e-mail address specified by the customer differs from the one stored on the database. If this is the case, you need to identify the e-mail address that is currently valid for the customer. This can be done in a variety of ways, for example on a separate screen. See the documentation on the field E-mail for information on the various options available to you.
  • Specify an initial country. This data is used principally to map a 'domestic' variant of this application, allowing you, for example, to set a filter for the selection field for the region or federal state.
  • If applicable, specify how the IAC is to be linked to a CRM e-mail campaign. For possible settings, see the documentation on the field IAC-CRM Connection.
  • Specify whether or not a log record is to be created when an Internet user is created by the IAC.

Further notes

The URL for accessing the Internet application should be as follows:

http://.../scripts/wgate.dll/jgwwwiu1/!?okcode=strt&key_user=w1

You should replace the variable w1 with the key value you chose for the entry defined in this step.
