In this step, you call up the postal data conversion programs for Switzerland. For more detailed information, please see the online documentation on the program in question.
Please adhere to the following sequence when processing PTT postal data conversion:
- 1) J_1SNFIL (Create temporary SAP file)
- 2) J_1SUPAL (Compare/convert dataset for postal code/city assignments)
- 3) J_1SVPUPBESTAND (Maintenance view for result of PCd/city comparison)
- 4) J_1SUPLZ (Format UPDA records for PCd/city assignments)
- 5) J_1SUBAL (Compare street dataset)
- 6) J_1SUSTR (Format UPDA records for streets)
- 7) J_1SVSUPBESTAND (Maintenance view for result of street comparison)
- 8) POSTÄNDERUNGSDIENST (Process change number)
- 9) J_1SUBOT (Carrier data upgrade)
Please note that you must maintain the logical file names for the sequential files for the Swiss PTT using the general IMG. To maintain logical files in the IMG path, choose Basis -> General -> Platform-Independent File Name Assignment.
The assignment between the logical and physical paths must be maintained:
Physical path: ISP_PTT_ALL
Logical path: ISP_PTT_ALL
The following logical file names must be maintained:
ISP_PTT_ORT_DAT (Temporary city file)
ISP_PTT_PLZ_DAT (Temporary postal code file)
ISP_PTT_STR_DAT (Temporary street file)
ISP_PTT_BOT_DAT (Temporary carrier file)
Please note: The physical file name depends on the settings for the logical files.
You need the following files from the Swiss postal service when converting postal data. They can be found in the Internet under http://www.swisspost.ch/yellowbox:
PTT Files for Postal Master Data Transfer:
- PLZ_P1UP_datum.txt (Postal code conversions)
- STHdatum.txt (Full street directory)
- MLSUdatum.txt (Conversions for letters, newspapers, magazines)
- PKTUdatum.txt (Conversions for catalogs from 500g)
Please note that the character set may need to be converted before the postal conversions can be imported, depending on the system platform. You should import postal conversions to the client specified as the postal client in the general control parameters for IS-M.
Change management:
Release of the data to the operative system takes place in change management. You need a change number for the programs J_1SUPAL, J_1SUPLZ, J_1SUBAL, and J_1SUSTR. You can create the change number in advance using transaction JS43 or alternatively while the program itself is running, using the F4 help on the selection screen.
