Use
In this step, you can use the Business Add-In ISM_CIC_NAVVIEW to define variants for displaying the objects in the data environment. These settings override the Customizing settings for the data environment so that the volume of data displayed can be adjusted to suit the concrete situation.
Since the process for determining the data displayed in the data environment requires a relatively long runtime, you can reduce the time required from identifying a business partner to displaying their data by reducing the data processed to a minimum. The user can then customize the data displayed during the process by choosing a suitable variant.
Example
- You define a profile for the data environment that contains formatting for all the relevant objects and specify whether or not these objects are to be displayed in the data environment and if so, how. You can now use the methods of the BAdI to provide the user with a restricted list of objects once they have identified a business partner. If the user discovers in the course of the contact that they need a more detailed overview of the customer's data, they can choose one of the variants defined in the BAdI to display additional objects.
- You can use the BAdI to change the time horizon for selecting relevant objects.
