In this step you set a flag to trigger batch inheritance for certain movement types. This will allow the system to copy batch characteristic values during:

  • Receipts from process orders (output product)
  • Receipts from process orders (reversal of component issue)
  • Receipts from purchase order

The movement types involved are:

  • 101 - GR goods receipt
  • 262 - RE for order
  • 305 - TF pl.in stor.in pl.
  • 501 - Receipt w/o PO

Example

Requirements

Movement types 101, 262, 305, and 501 must be defined.

Standard settings

Function = /SAPHT/MESEXIT_SAPMM07M_004.

Description = Copy Batch Characteristic Values

Flag = X

To enable batch inheritance for existing goods receipt batches that have one or more characteristics with characteristic values, use this setting:

Function = /SAPHT/MES_BATCH_INH_FOR_EXISTING_BATCH

Description = DO BATCH INH FOR BATCHES THAT EXIST

Flag = X

Activities

  1. Maintain table /SAPHT/MESEXIT.
  2. Add function
  3. Enter the description.
  4. Activate the flag.
  5. Save.

Further notes

Batch Inheritance is standard for movement types 309 and 311.
