Activities

Check Customizing

You can check the completeness of Customizing settings for the synchronization of Attribute, Authorization, and Status.

Attribute Synchronization

  1. In the Synchronization Type area, select Attribute.
  2. In the Objects area, enter the Source Grouping and the Target Grouping based on the synchronization source and target.
  3. Enter the Oper./Synch. (Operation and Synchronization Behaviour) type.
  4. In the Field Mappings area, on the basis of your Source Grouping and Target Grouping, define the Source Field and Target Field to specify the source and target field values.

Example: You want to carry out attribute synchronization from a portfolio item to a Project Management project for the Create Target Object and Synchronize operation so that the EXTERNAL_ID source field of the item is synchronized to the PROJECT_NUMBER target field of the Project Management project. In this case, you must enter the following values:

Field    Value

Source Grouping    PPO

Target Grouping    PDCP

Oper./Sync.    C

Source Field    EXTERNAL_ID

Target Field    PROJECT_NUMBER

  1. To check the consistency of settings, choose Check Customizing.

Authorization Synchronization

  1. In the Synchronization Type area, select Authorization.
  2. In the Objects area, enter the Source Grouping and the Target Grouping based on the synchronization source and target.
  3. Enter the Oper./Synch. (Operation and Synchronization Behaviour) type.
  4. In the Activity area, on the basis of your Source Grouping and Target Grouping, define the DFM Activity, the Source Activity, and the Target Activity to specify the DFM, source, and target activity values.

Example: You want to carry out authorization synchronization from a portfolio item to a Project Management project for the Create Target Object and Synchronize operation so that the user that has Admin authorization for the item should have Admin authorization for the Project Management project as well. In this case, you must enter the following values:

Field    Value

Source Grouping    PPO

Target Grouping    PDCP

Oper. /Sync.     C

DFM Activity    Admin

Source Activity    Admin

Target Activity    Admin

  1. To check the consistency of settings, choose Check Customizing.

Status Synchronization

  1. In the Synchronization Type area, select Status.
  2. In the Objects area, enter the Source Grouping and the Target Grouping based on the synchronization source and target.
  3. Enter the Oper./Synch. (Operation and Synchronization Behaviour) type and then press ENTER.
  4. In the Business Transaction area, on the basis of your Source Grouping and Target Grouping, enter the values for the relevant fields.

Example: You want to carry out status synchronization from a portfolio item to a Project Management project for the Update operation so that if the item status changes from In Preparation to In Progress, the Project Management project status changes to Release. In this case, you must enter the following values:

Field    Value

Source Grouping    PPO

Target Grouping    PDCP

Oper. /Sync.    U

DFM Bus.Transaction    DFM1

Target Bus.Transaction    DX01

Old Status    0001

New Status    0002

  1. To check the consistency of settings, choose Check Customizing.

Maintain Customizing

Display Customizing

You can display the Customizing settings that are already maintained for the synchronization of Attribute, Authorization, and Status.

You can create or change Customizing settings for the synchronization of Attribute, Authorization, and Status.

  1. Enter the values as described under Display Customizing.
  2. In the application toolbar, choose Execute.

Note: If you choose Maintain Customizing, you can create or change Customizing settings instead of creating or changing them in the following single Customizing activities:

  • Define DFM Object Link Types (only Change)

  • Define Execution Mode for Synchronization of Objects
  • Define Scenario ID (only Change)
  • Maintain Attributes for Synchronization Scenarios
  • Maintain Field Mappings
