Use
You use this Customizing activity to check, display, define, or change settings for the synchronization of Attribute, Authorization, and Status.
Requirements
- You have authorization to display or change views.
- To be able to change object types, you must have defined object types in Customizing for Common Functions under Decision Flow Management Settings -> Define DFM Object Link Types.
- You have defined the destination of the SAP ERP system for Project System (PS) synchronization by choosingCreate RFC Connections.
- You have defined the Web server alias of the SAP ERP system in Customizing for Portfolio Management under Base System Interfaces -> Application Object Settings -> Define Web Server Alias.
- For attribute synchronization, you have created a scenario ID by choosing Define Scenario ID.
- For authorization synchronization, you have edited the Customizing activity Maintain DFM Activities.
- For status synchronization, you have edited the Customizing activitiesMaintain DFM Business Transactions and Map Business Transactions for Synchronization.
Standard settings
Activities
Check Customizing
You can check the completeness of Customizing settings for the synchronization of Attribute, Authorization, and Status.
Attribute Synchronization
- In the Synchronization Type area, select Attribute.
- In the Objects area, enter the Source Grouping and the Target Grouping based on the synchronization source and target.
- Enter the Oper./Synch. (Operation and Synchronization Behaviour) type.
- In the Field Mappings area, on the basis of your Source Grouping and Target Grouping, define the Source Field and Target Field to specify the source and target field values.
Example: You want to carry out attribute synchronization from a portfolio item to a Project Management project for the Create Target Object and Synchronize operation so that the EXTERNAL_ID source field of the item is synchronized to the PROJECT_NUMBER target field of the Project Management project. In this case, you must enter the following values:

- To check the consistency of settings, choose Check Customizing.
Authorization Synchronization
- In the Synchronization Type area, select Authorization.
- In the Objects area, enter the Source Grouping and the Target Grouping based on the synchronization source and target.
- Enter the Oper./Synch. (Operation and Synchronization Behaviour) type.
- In the Activity area, on the basis of your Source Grouping and Target Grouping, define the DFM Activity, the Source Activity, and the Target Activity to specify the DFM, source, and target activity values.
Example: You want to carry out authorization synchronization from a portfolio item to a Project Management project for the Create Target Object and Synchronize operation so that the user that has Admin authorization for the item should have Admin authorization for the Project Management project as well. In this case, you must enter the following values:

- To check the consistency of settings, choose Check Customizing.
Status Synchronization
- In the Synchronization Type area, select Status.
- In the Objects area, enter the Source Grouping and the Target Grouping based on the synchronization source and target.
- Enter the Oper./Synch. (Operation and Synchronization Behaviour) type and then press ENTER.
- In the Business Transaction area, on the basis of your Source Grouping and Target Grouping, enter the values for the relevant fields.
Example: You want to carry out status synchronization from a portfolio item to a Project Management project for the Update operation so that if the item status changes from In Preparation to In Progress, the Project Management project status changes to Release. In this case, you must enter the following values:

- To check the consistency of settings, choose Check Customizing.
Maintain Customizing
Display Customizing
You can display the Customizing settings that are already maintained for the synchronization of Attribute, Authorization, and Status.
Attribute Synchronization
- On the initial screen, choose Maintain Customizing.
- On the Maintain Decision Flow Management Customizing screen, select Attribute.
- On the DFM Preparation tab, enter the Object Type.
- On the Synchronization Type Details tab, enter the Scenario ID, Source Grouping and Target Grouping.
- In the application toolbar, choose Display Customizing. The system displays the logical system, destination, and Web server associated with the object type and field mappings associated with the combination of scenario ID, source, and target grouping.
Execute
You can create or change Customizing settings for the synchronization of Attribute, Authorization, and Status.
- Enter the values as described under Display Customizing.
- In the application toolbar, choose Execute.
Note: If you choose Maintain Customizing, you can create or change Customizing settings instead of creating or changing them in the following single Customizing activities:
- Define DFM Object Link Types (only Change)
- Maintain Objects for Synchronization
- Define Execution Mode for Synchronization of Objects
- Define Scenario ID (only Change)
- Maintain Attributes for Synchronization Scenarios
- Maintain Field Mappings
- Map Portfolio and Project Management Activity to DFM Activity
- Map DFM Activity to Portfolio and Project Management Activity
- Map Project / Initiative Business Transaction to DFM Business Transaction
- Map DFM Business Transaction to Project / Initiative Business Transaction
- Map Portfolio Management Status to DFM Business Transaction
- Map DFM Business Transaction to Portfolio Management Status
Delete Values
You can reset the field values and the log generated using Check Customizing.
- In the application toolbar, select Delete Values.
- The system resets all field values and log generated.
Note: If you switch from one synchronization type to another, for example from Attribute to Authorization, the system resets the field values and the log generated.
