Use
In this IMG activity, you maintain posting variants.
Requirements

Activities
If all your assets are to be revaluated on the same dates, create only one posting variant. If, however, some assets are to be revaluated at different intervals from others, create a separate posting variant for each case: for example, if you revaluate some of your assets once a month and others once a quarter, create two posting variants, one for each group of assets.
To create a posting variant:
- Enter the header data (posting variant ID and short text).
- Enter the dates on which you are allowed to revaluate assets.
Once you have defined the posting variants you need, assign one to:
- Each revaluation key
This controls how often each individual asset can be revaluated.
- The inflation method
This controls how often you can execute the Asset Revaluation (Inflation) program, so you must use a posting variant that applies to all of your assets.
If, as in the above example, you revaluate some assets monthly and others quarterly, you would need to assign the monthly posting variant to the inflation method. If you assigned the quarterly variant to it instead, you would not be able to revaluate the first group of assets monthly.
