In this IMG activity, you set up the search server relation that contains information about which search engine and RFC destinations are used by the destination Text Retrieval and Information Extraction. (Technical Specification)
The definition of a search server relation is a prerequisite for the creation of an index category.
You should also refer to the notes in the installation guide for Text Retrieval and Information Extraction.
Requirements
For the computer system for Text Retrieval and Information Extraction
(while keeping to the system prerequisites described in the installation guide):
- Installation of the SAP Gateway from 4.6D (standard)
- Installation of a search engine (Verity search engine 1.2.2 or DrFuzzy).
- Installation of Text Retrieval and Information Extraction

Standard settings
Activities
- Carry out the activity.
- Choose Create SSR
- In the following dialog box, in the field Search Server Relation ID enter a key or name.
- Choose Create SSR.
- In the field Search Engine enter the name of the search engine

). - In the field RFC Destination (TCP/IP) enter
IMSDEFAULT
. - In the field Description enter a description of the search server relation.
- Choose Save.
You return to the previous dialog box.
- Select the newly created search server relation in the table.
- Choose Set SSR as Default.
- When the query box appears, choose Yes to confirm.
The search server relation is then flagged as default in the table.
Edit and test the search server relation:
- Choose the tab page RFC Destinations.
2 RFC destinations are listed for your search server relation: one is for the action 'I' (indexing) and one is 'S' (searching).
- Select the 'S' entry.
- Choose Change Destination.
- In the following dialog box, in the field New RFC Destination enter
IMSDEFAULT_REG
. - Choose Save and then Continue.
You return to the previous dialog box.
- Select the entry for your search server relation (action = S) again.
- In the area Search Engine Settings choose the Connection Test button.
- Then select the entry for your search server relation (action = I).
- In the area Search Engine Settings choose the Connection Test button.
