Use
In this Customizing step, you define applications for the Retention Warehouse.
In the Retention Warehouse, you use applications to structure the large amount of different data stored in multiple database tables.
For each application, the Context Data Extractor generates exactly one archive object.
In further steps, you have to define which data is archived by the Context Data Extractor and assign it to an application.
Requirements
We recommend that you define separate applications for company-code-dependent and company-code-independent data. The advantage is that later in the process you can define a company-code-dependent archive hierarchy in the ILM aware storage which allows you to define company-code-dependent retention rules.
Standard settings
SAP delivers several predefined applications. We recommend that you use these applications.
You can also assign your own customer-specific data to the predefined applications.
Activities
Check the predefined applications and if required create new applications for your specific requirements.
