Use
In work area management, you can create references to the following SAP objects, for example, using the data integration function:
- Storage locations
- Functional locations
- Logistics work centers
- Buildings
- Contacts (employees, applicants, external persons)
If you want to create references to other SAP objects in the data integration function, specify them as integration object types. In Customizing in the standard system, you will find a template that you can use as a copy template.
Activities
To specify a new integration object type, you must perform the following steps:
- Create a function group of the integration object type
- Adapt Customizing
The steps are explained in more detail below:
Creating a function group of the integration object type
- Create a new function group.
To do this, use the function group CBIH_LB08 (template integration) as a copy template. When you copy the template function group, also copy the function modules.
Assign the names of the copied function modules according to the following convention:
<Function group name>_<object ID>_<function>
Example: CBIH_LB08_XX_ KEY_ENCODE
The object ID must have two digits (in the example "XX"). Also make sure that you use the same prefix (function group name + object ID) for all function module names. Leave the function name unchanged (in the example "_KEY_ENCODE").
- Adapt the source text of the copied function modules.
You will find specific notes on this in the documentation of the function modules included in the template.
Tip:
If you want to test the template first in the data integration function, you must choose the integration object type template integration object in the Customizing activity, and delete the character string DELTHIS_ in the detail view from all fields in which it appears. Then you can test the template in the application.
- Adapt the screen 8010 contained in the new function group. You will find notes on this in the source text documentation for the screen.
To be able to address the newly created integration object in the application, you then need to adapt Customizing.
Adapting Customizing
Call the Customizing activity Specify Integration Objects for Work Area Management and insert a new entry for your newly specified integration object. Take into account the fact that the character string SAPL must precede the program name.
Further notes
If you are using the integration object building, you must edit the IMG activity Specify Buildings.
