Use
To be able to use integration in the SAP components Plant Maintenance (PM), Customer Service (CS), and Quality Management (QM) in work area management, risk assessment, and incident/accident management, you must make the settings in Customizing for Maintenance and Service Processing as described below. (Examples refer to maintenance processing. For Quality Management and Customer Service you can copy the data from an existing notification type.)
- Define Notification Types
Specify the notification type for which you want to use integration in PM. This notification type is referred to below as IHS notification.
The IHS notification must have the notification category 01 (PM notification, 02 for Quality Management, 03 for Customer Service) and contain the following settings:
- Notification origin: General maintenance notification
- Reference time: Notification receipt
- Catalog profile: General catalog profile
- Update group: No updating
- Early number allocation indicator: must be set
Important:
In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Environment Parameters, enter the ID of the notification as the value of the environment parameter IHS_NOTIFICATION_TYPE. If you require a number of notification types, create the corresponding number of values for the environment parameter IHS_NOTIFICATION_TYPE with a sort sequence.
- Overview of Notification Type
Edit the following steps for the IHS notification (you can copy the data from an existing notification type for Quality Management and Customer Service):

Assign a Tab header for each tab page and activate the Tab indicator.

- Catalogs and Catalog Profiles:

- Catalog type: Tasks
The catalog type is used to predefine a set of appropriate tasks. SAP recommends you assign the catalog type Tasks.
- Priority Type:
- Priority type: PM priorities
Using the priority and the factory calendar, the system calculates the start/end dates for the completion of the notification and outputs them as a proposal. You should therefore also check the Global Settings in Customizing to make sure the factory calendar is entered for the relevant plants and that it is still valid.

Assign the partner determination procedure Plant maintenance.
- Partner Functions, Approval:
- Role of person responsible for task: Person respons.
Important:
Do not edit the Allowed Change of Notification Type step.
- Define Number Ranges
Assign the IHS notification to the number range group PM notification.
Assign the Quality Management notification to the number range group quality notification and the Customer Service notification to the number range group service notification.
