In this IMG activity you check the status profiles of the object types in Industrial Hygiene and Safety and add user statuses if necessary. The status profiles are part of the standard SAP status networks for release processes in Industrial Hygiene and Safety.
Note:
In addition to the settings for Industrial Hygiene and Safety, you can edit the status profiles of other object types in the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) component. You will find specific documentation in Customizing for the respective component.
Background information
All statuses used for an object type form a status network. Status networks are predefined by SAP and can comprise system statuses alone or contain additional status profiles.
System statuses are implemented in a fixed manner: you cannot make any changes to them.
Status profiles are made up of a closed chain of user statuses. The chain cannot be broken by system statuses.
User statuses are used to supplement the status network flexibly and can be tailored to your requirements: you can change, delete, and create new user statuses. You cannot change or delete user statuses used in a status profile that is already in use.
Standard settings
Default settings are supplied for the object types in Industrial Hygiene and Safety.
Note:
One status profile only must be activated for each object type, even if the status profile is not used in the status network and no user statuses are defined (see also Activate Status Profiles).
So that the user statuses of a status profile can be used in the status network, the status profile must be able to be inserted in the status network at a position prescribed by the programming. In Industrial Hygiene and Safety, this "insert point" is implemented for the following object types, for example:
Object Type Insert Point Between Statuses
Risk assessment CR (Created) and CO (Conference)
Incident/accident log IP (In process) and CO (Conference)
Person affected CO (Conference) and DE (Data entered)
The status profiles are shipped empty, meaning without user statuses. One exception is the risk assessment - here user statuses are set as defaults.
Activities
If necessary, edit the user statuses for the status profiles with a link to a status network. If you want to define a new user status for a status profile, perform the following steps:
- Call the detail data for the relevant status profile.
The Change Status Profile: User Status screen appears.
- In the Status column, assign a language-dependent ID for the user status and in the Short text column the description.
- Enter a position.
- In the Priority column, assign the value 1.
Make sure that you have assigned the value 1 for all statuses in the status profile.
Important:
Edit only these columns and leave all other columns blank.
- Check the object type assignment of the status profile.
Choose Object types to do this.
Further notes
For an overview of the settings you have made for a status profile, choose Extras -> Status profile info.
