Use

In this IMG activity you specify into which categories you want to subdivide industrial hygiene and safety measures and for which categories integration in the SAP components Plant Maintenance (PM), Customer Service (CS), and Quality Management (QM) is possible.

In a second step you assign safety measure types to the safety measure categories. This means only the safety measure types you assigned appear in the application for each safety measure category.

Note:

Industrial hygiene and safety measures can be created from work area management, risk assessment, and the incident/accident log.

Standard settings

  • Safety measure categories are shipped, for example, the safety measures Technical and Organizational.
  • Integration in maintenance processing is set as the default for technical safety measures (known as tasks in PM).

Activities

  1. In the processing step Safety Measure Categories, check the standard settings. Adjust them as required or create new safety measure categories.

    If you want to make integration in PM possible for other safety measure categories, set the Link Outside EH&S for IHS Safety Measures indicator accordingly.

  2. In the Safety Measure Type Assignment step, assign the safety measure types required to each safety measure category.
