Use
In this IMG activity you specify which objects can be agents. Examples are:
For agents that are specifications, you also specify how they are stored in specification management. Here you can control whether materials can be assigned to the agent depending on the agent type.
Standard settings
Default settings are shipped.
Note:
To enable an agent to be a material, the agent type Material (HAZ_MAT) is set as default. The input help for HAZ_MAT does not access specification management, but accesses the material master. The same applies to the agent type TASK: Here the object task from Organizational Management (PA-OS) is accessed.
Agents that are not specifications are used only in Industrial Hygiene and Safety. For more information, see the section Editing the "Only EHS-IHS" Indicator.
Activities
- Specifying the agent types
Check the proposed agent types and define new entries if required.
- Specifying number ranges for agents that are specifications
Check the number assignments. For more information, see Specify Number Ranges for Specifications.
To include a check for the numbering conventions, proceed as follows:
- In Customizing for Basic Data and Tools in the IMG activity Manage User Exits, enter the user exit SUB_SCATCH and assign a user exit name.
- Adapt the standard function module C142_SUBCAT_SUBID_CHECK to suit your requirements.
- In this Customizing activity in the details screen for the agent type, enter the user exit name in the User exit name field.
- Controlling material assignments
To allow agents that are managed in the specification database to have a material assigned to them, you must set the Mat. assignment indicator in the details screen for the agent type.
- Specifying the charateristic for the standard component type
You can assign a standard component type to an agent type that is a specification type. For more information, see Specify Specification Types.
- Assigning property trees
For agents that are specifications, you can specify the property tree that is to be displayed in the application as the default setting. If you do not specify a property tree and there is no SET/GET setting, the property tree is displayed for which the Default Property Tree for Specification Management indicator is set in the IMG activity Set Up Property Trees.
With the Default indicator in the details screen for the agent type, you can also specify whether the user can select other property trees from the hit list by choosing Utilities -> Settings -> Property Tree. You specify these property trees in the details screen for assigning property trees.
If the user has selected a property tree using Utilities, the tree is saved as a SET/GET parameter in the user's settings.
- Editing the "Only EHS-IHS" indicator
With the Only EHS-IHS indicator in the details screen for the agent type, you specify that the agent type does not relate to a specification but to another object. Agents that are not specifications are used only in Industrial Hygiene and Safety.
If the agent type does not relate to a specification, you must set the indicator to Yes (see Only EHS-IHS). In addition you must specify under Assign Functions to Agent Types which function modules are to be used for the input help, for example.
- Assigning specification categories
You must assign the specification category HAZARD to each agent type you want to use. Agent types that relate to a specification can have other specification categories (such as SUBSTANCE).
- Assigning source specification types
For an agent type that relates to a specification, you can enter in the details screen Referencing Between Specification Types the specification types whose specifications can serve as a source for referencing or inheritance relationships. If you do not specify any source specification types, you cannot create any references or inheritance relationships to agents of the agent type you selected.
Further notes
Once an agent type has been used in a productive system it can no longer be deleted.
