Use

This activity describes the settings you must enter if you want to make the remuneration statement available to your employees in the Internet/intranet as a PDF file. It includes the settings to make in your SAP system as well as a link for accessing the form as a PDF file in your HTML page.

You have successfully completed the step Make remuneration statement available (ESS).

Standard settings

Activities

You have to convert the role as ESS employee and the link to access the form in the HTML page of your company to transaction PZ11_PDF Convert Remuneration Statement with PDF Until now, the transaction PZ11 Remuneration Statement was used without a PDF file.

If you want to include customer-specific requirements when you convert the form to PDF, for example, inserting the company logo, then you have to make the following settings:

Adjust the feature EDPDF (ESS Remuneration Statement: Smart Form for Converting to PDF). The feature controls the conversion of form data into a PDF file.

  • If the return value of the feature is the name of a Smart Form, then the form data is transferred to SAP Smart Forms. SAP Smart Forms generates the form as PDF file from this. The Smart Form must use the same form interface as the standard form HR_ESS_PAYSLIP_TO_PDF.

    Note:

    • Inserting large graphics can increate the processing time for this transaction.
    • The characters '|' and '-', which are often used in forms for structuring a text box or as an underscore, are interpreted by SAP Smart Forms as individual characters of the form '|' and '-', and not shown as continuous lines. SAP Spool shows these characters as continuous lines.
    • To convert the data to a PDF file, the SAP system needs certain printer information. You must enter a printer as a standard value for each user, otherwise the use must enter this information when accessing the ESS scenario.
  • If the return value of the features is constant SPOOL, then the form data is first stored in the SAP spool. The spool request is directly converted to a PDF file.

    This return value is also used if the smart form entered in the feature does not exist or is incorrect.
