To delete expired logs, you must schedule program Application Log: Delete Expired Logs (SBAL_DELETE) as a batch job.

If any errors occur in the Expert Finder system, the appropriate error messages are displayed in the application log (SLG1). The error messages have a time stamp that is valid in the standard SAP System for today + 31 days.

According to this validity period, the error messages are valid as active for one month before they expire.
The administrator for the Expert Finder system should analyze the detailed error descriptions regularly using transaction SLG1.

To display messages in the application log for Expert Finder only, enter HREXP in the Object field on the report selection screen.

&ACTIVITY&

  1. Call transaction SA38.
  2. Enter report name SBAL_DELETE, and select the Execute pushbutton.

Note

Schedule the program cyclically, for example, weekly, to delete expired entries from the application log.
