Use

In this process step you can make different general settings.

Standard settings

In the SAP standard system, the following entries are available in the General Settings for Expert Search (V_T7XP_Settings) view:

  • Switch Authorization Check (APPRV)
The entry determines whether a workflow should be triggered for the approval check. If you want the approval workflow to be activated, enter X, in theValue of Semantic Abbreviation (Value abbr..) column.
  • Switch Object Types Not Used (EXCOT)
This entry controls if certain object types should be hidden in expert administration.
Depending on the entry you make here, either P (Person), US (User) or BP (Business Partner) is not displayed in the Define Expert Communities and Assign Experts IMG activity. This means that the entry can no longer be selected. You must use uppercase letters for this entry. If you want to hide more than one object type, separate these with a comma.

    Example: Enter P, BP
Only users will be used as object type.
  • Connection LDAP Object (LDAPA)
This entry enables you to define the object type for determining the default LDAP server ID.

If, in the Set Up Connection to LDAP Directory Service activity, you select an application and the Default checkbox is selected, the system uses the default server defined in the LDAPA field for the selected application.
If you do not store an entry in this field, the system searches for a default entry for a general application.
  • LDAP Object Connection (LDAPO)
This entry enables you to determine the name of the object class that depicts users/experts in the LDAP directory.
  • LDAP Server ID (LDAPS)
If you enter a server ID in this field, the system uses this as default.
  • Maximum Number of Checkbox Fields Otherwise Multiselect Control(MAXCI)
This entry controls whether input help is displayed as a list box or multi-select control.
This entry enables you to specify the maximum number of checkbox fields. If the number of fields exceeds the maximum number here, input help is displayed as multi-select control.
  • Number of Columns for Checkbox Fields (NUMCC)
This entry in this field determines how many checkboxes, per line, are displayed in the browser.
  • Default for Search Allowed for Expert (SFLAG)
If an entry is stored in this field, the Check Authorization of Expert field is selected as the default value in the Manage Communities IMG activity.
  • Save Profile Without Changes Allowed (SPWOC)
If an entry is stored in this field, users can use the Save Profile pushbutton. This enables users to assign a time stamp to their expert profiles without having made any changes.

Activities

  1. Call the activity and check if the entries fulfill your requirements.
  2. If necessary, change the existing entries or make the entries you require in the relevant fields. The values are self explanatory.
  3. Save your entries.
