Use

In this process step you define expert profile element groups and determine where the individual expert profile elements should be displayed within the group.

Grouping expert profile elements together in expert profile element groups has the following advantages:

  • Expert profile element groups structure the user interface in Expert Finder.
    This enables you to organize the layout logically. For example, you can group the different master data or knowledge of experts together in individual groups.
  • Processing in Customizing is simplified because you can assign expert profile element groups to more than one profile type without having to re-define them.
  • Groupings simplify the search for users. Users only need to make an entry in a field once. Because expert profile elements are merged together in expert profile element groups, the system automatically searches all expert profile elements that are assigned to the group.

Requirements

In the Define Expert Profile Elements activity, you have defined the required elements.

Activities

To define expert profile element groups, proceed as follows:

  1. Call the activity Define Expert Profile Element Group. Using the Display -> Change or New Entries pushbutton, define an expert profile element group and in the Name field, enter a name for the group.
    1. Save your entries.
  2. Call the activity Specify Position of Expert Profile Element in Group.
    1. In the dialog box, Specify Work Area, use input help to select an expert profile element group and confirm the entry.
    2. Insert the expert profile elements you require and assign the positions they should be displayed within the group.
    3. Save your entries.
