Use

In this actvity, you define the expert profile elements used in Expert Finder and the characteristics that the expert profile element should have.
In the second process step Define Input Help for Expert Profile Elements, you determine the structure of input help for the expert profile element.

An expert profile element corresponds to a field in Expert Finder. Each element is displayed on the user interface in Expert Finder depending on which expert profile group and position you assign it. You can virtually define any number of expert profile elements and characteristics.

Activities

Perform the activities as follows:

  1. In the Define Expert Profile Elements activity, specify the expert profile elements that you want to be maintained in the expert profile.
To create a new entry, select the New Entries pushbutton in change mode.
To edit an existing entry, select the relevant line and select the Details pushbutton.

Process the input fields as follows:
    1. In the Element field, define an expert profile element, and in the Name field, enter the appropriate name. The element is displayed in Expert Finder according to the entry in the Name field.
    2. In the Semantic Attribute field, you can assign a semantic attribute to an expert profile element. In other words, you can define the possible contact types (for example, telephone, e-mail, and so on) that can be accessed directly from the application.
However, you must have defined the semantic attribute for the expert profile element in the Define Semantic Attributes process step.

      Group Box Data Origin

    3. In the Data Origin group box, select whether data in Expert Finder is to be maintained or if you want data to be imported from an external system.
In the expert profile, you can only overwrite data that comes from the Expert Finder system.
In addition, you must also process the Automatic Generation of Input Help checkbox for data from other systems. This field is a required entry field.

Note, depending on whether you select the radio button, additional fields are displayed that you need to process.

      Radio Button LDAP
If you select an LDAP directory as data origin, you must also store the following information:
      - LDAP attribute name
In this field, enter the name of the LDAP object that is to be determined when data is imported from your LDAP directory.
      - LDAP attribute key
In this field, enter the key for the LDAP object that is to be determined when data is imported from the LDAP directory.
The key is used for automatically generating input help.

Radio Button SAP HR Master Data Using Query (Not Ready for Input).
      Process the following fields:
      - In the RFC Destination field, enter a system name from which the data is to be read.
Prerequisite: You must have defined the RFC destination using transaction SM59.
      - In the Work Area field, enter the required work area.
      - In the User Group field, enter the required user group.
You can set up user groups in the Easy Access Menu, under Human Resources -> -> Information System -> Reporting Tools -> SAP Query. (For further information on SAP queries, see Application Help). In the menu, navigate to Environment -> User Groups, and select Create.
After you have created the user group, store the required information in the following fields:
      - In the Query Name field, store the name of the query you require.
      - In the Query Field Value Key field, enter the key. The key is used, for example, when input help is automatically generated.
      - In the Query Field Value Name, enter the name of the value.

Radio Button Other Using RFC Destination (Not Ready for Input) .
Generally, you can include any RFC compatible function module and read data from all systems. This is providing that the function module exists in the source system and has the same interfaces.
      - In the RFC Destination field, enter a valid system from which the data is to be read.
However, you must have defined the RFC destination in transaction SM59.
      - In the Function Module field, store a suitable entry.

      Example:
You can assign qualifications to an expert profile element. For example, you can define the minimum proficiency level of a foreign language such as the degree of ability. Only qualifications that fulfill this criterion are then included.
The minimum proficiency levels of qualifications are stored in Infotype Qualification Export EF (infotype 5032). You can import them using the function module HR_EXPORT_QUALIFICATIONS.
    4. Checkbox Automatic Generation of Input Help
The Automatic Generation of Input Help checkbox must be selected if you want to transfer an element from an external system so that the element key is included in the value table.
The input help can be composed of LDAP or HR data. The input help in the Expert Finder system is completed from XML documents. You do not need to update the value table manually. However, you must schedule batch reports (RHEXPUPD and RHEXPUPDVAL) at regular intervals to synchronize the data. These reports require a long runtime and therefore it is recommended that you perform them at times when the system is not in peak demand, for example, at night. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG)under Cyclic Activities.

      Group Box Display

    5. In the Input Help Attribute field, select whether an input help should be assigned to the expert profile element, and which input help type the expert profile element should have.
The input help for expert profile elements can have the following attributes:
      1. No input help, only free-text entry
      2. Input help available, one entry can be selected from input help. When processing the expert profile, the element is displayed as a drop down listbox.
      3. Input help is available. More than one entry can be selected from input help. When processing the expert profile, the element is displayed as a group of checkboxes or as a multi-select listbox depending on the Customizing setting in the IMG activity General Settings.
      4. Input help is available. More than one entry can be selected from input help. You can also enter a free text.
The values that you can select from the input help for expert profile elements are stored in the Input Help Attribute view (V_T7XP_ELEM).
    6. Field Required Entry in Expert Profile
If you select this checkbox, users have to select a value from input help.
    7. In the Number of Characters field, enter the required Field Length for the input help in the expert profile and on the detail screen.
    8. Enter the required number of lines for the free-text box, you want to be available for users.

Group Box Hyperlink in Expert Profile or Hyperlink on Detail Screen

    9. If necessary, store a URL and name in the Hyperlink in Expert Profile or Hyperlink on Detail Screen group box.
The link that is generated is displayed in the expert profile in the group box of this expert profile element.

      Description

    10. In the Description field, you can enter a text that is displayed as a quick info when users position their cursor on the element.
  2. In the Assign Input Help Per Profile Element activity, assign the expert profile the different values that the users will be able to select from input help.
    1. Call the activity and select the required expert profile element from the dialog box.
    2. Store a key and a name for the selected element.

Example
For the expert profile element Nationality, store all required nationalities and in the Key field, assign a value (for example, FR) to each nationality. In the Name field, enter the appropriate name for the nationality (for example, French).
