Use

In the IMG activities in this section of the Implementation Guide you configure the form scenario for the XI message type. You need this form scenario to reuse the data that is transmitted from the e-recruiting system using the XI message. The form scenario must contain form fields and attachment types.

When configuring a form scenario for an XI message type you should note that the form scenario serves various purposes:

  • It receives the data, that is, fields and attachments in the inbound processing of an XI message.
  • After inbound processing, a workflow containing a step for selecting a process is triggered. In this step a view form generated in the form scenario is available as an attachment. To select the appropriate process, users can therefore view the field values received for the XI message.
  • In a subsequent workflow step, the system runs the process selected by the user. The system uses a specially defined data transfer to transfer the values from the form fields and possible attachments from the form scenario of the XI message type to the form scenario of the process to be triggered.

To configure the form scenario for the XI message type, proceed as follows:

  1. Check the list of fields that the XI message type provides.
  2. Define the possible attachment types.
  3. Create a form scenario. Perform the following steps:
    1. Create an ISR scenario.
    2. Create the actual form scenario.
      3. You also determine the fields that are available in the form and the predefined attachment types that support the form scenario.
    3. Link the form scenario to the ISR scenario.
    4. Return to the IMG activity to create the ISR scenario and determine the form layout.
  4. Specify the data transfer from the fields and attachment types of the XI message type to the fields and attachment types of the form scenario for the XI message type.

Example

You can use the Data from HireRequest XI Message (SXHR) form scenario as an example for the HireRequest XI message type of the New Hire Request from E-Recruiting XI scenario (NEWHIREREQUEST). The following settings are defined for this form scenario:

  • The form fields of the form scenario have the same name as the fields of the HireRequest XI message type.
  • The form scenario uses the following attachment types:
    • Attachments of the HireRequest XI Message (SXIHIREATT)
    • Data of the HireRequest XI Message (SXIHIREDAT)
  • The data transfer from the fields of the HireRequest XI message type to the form fields is configured.
