Use
In this IMG activity, you activate event linkage for the workflow template with which administrators, after receiving an XI message, then receive the work items for selecting and starting the process.
Requirements
You executed the Set Up Workflow Runtime Environment IMG activity in Customizing for HR Administrative Services . Choose Configuration of Forms and Processes -> Process Configuration -> Technical Settings. You checked if automatic workflow Customizing is complete.
Standard settings
The standard system contains the workflow template Start Process for XI Data (WS17900415). This workflow template contains the following interactive workflow steps:
- Step for Process Selection (if there are several possible processes for an XI message)
You specify the agent determination for this step in the Specify Responsibilities for Process Selection IMG activity.
- Step for Starting Selected Process
You specify the agent determination for this step in the Specify Responsibilities for Process Start IMG activity.
If you use this workflow template, after the initial inbound processing of an XI message the system starts a workflow with the following process flow:
- After inbound processing of the XI message, an administrator receives a work item in his or her universal worklist (UWL).
The work item contains the list of processes that can be started with the data of the XI message. The work item also contains the data and attachments that were used to determine the XI message. The administrator looks over the data and attachments and, based on this information, decides on a process to start.
- A second administrator receives a work item in his or her UWL for starting the process that the first administrator selected.
In the standard system, event linkage is activated for the workflow template.
Activities
Check the event linkage for the standard workflow template, and activate it if necessary. Proceed as follows:
- Execute the IMG activity and choose Activate Event Linkage.
The Event Linkage: Triggering Events view appears.
- Expand the node for the workflow template.
The system displays the triggering event for the workflow template. In the Activate/Deactivate column, the current status of the event linkage is displayed for the event.
- If the status is set to deactivated, set it to activated by using the pushbutton in the Activate/Deactivate column.
- If you do not want to use the standard workflow template, you have to create your own workflow template. For example, if you want to use other rules for agent determination, we recommend that you copy the standard workflow template and change it accordingly.
