In this IMG activity, you combine notification abbreviations into user groups, and these are later assigned to users. You create a form for each user group and notification abbreviation. This form is used as the basis for correspondence documents. Forms are defined in the step Edit forms.
You can also specify per user group and notification abbreviation whether output of the notification should be triggered manually or automatically. If output is automatic, you must specify the abbreviation for the output device (for example P for printer).
If no other notification abbreviations are allowed for a user group other that those assigned, you can deactivate these with an additional lock entry ** in the field notification abbr.
Example
In the user group * the form HR_ALL_BUCH has been assigned to the notification abbreviation BUCH. Output is set to be triggered manually (Medium = <BLANK>).
Standard settings
The standard forms for each notification abbreviation are listed under the user group *. The user group * applies when a user has not been assigned to any user group, or if only certain abbreviations have been defined in the user's group and no lock entry has been defined for the group.
In the standard SAP R/3 System, documents are set to be output manually.
Activities
- Combine your own notification abbreviations into user groups if required.
- Assign a form to each user group and notification abbreviation.
(If there is no suitable form available, create your own.)
- Specify in each case whether the notification output is to be triggered manually or automatically. In the case of automatic output, specify the output device.
