In this step, you determine which information on objects and relationships is to appear in the various views of Structural Graphics and the order in which it is to appear. The different views are the overview area and the detail area as well as the info window and the additional area for individual objects.
The settings are combined to make data sets, which are available to several users and applications.
Example
Only the short text (TEXTId = "SHORT") is to be displayed in the overview area, only the long text in the detail area, the info window is to display first the long text, then the short text, then the object type name ("OTYPE_TEXT", "position", for example). The field label is only to appear with the short text in the info window. Line breaks in long texts are only to be shown in the detail area. The relationship type should be shown for each relationship.
As the three columns "Sequence", "Field label" and "Line break" relate to the detail area, overview area and the info window, the following entries must be made (object type= *):
Under "Sequence":
- A 1 in the first column for "STEXT"
- A 1 in the second column for "SHORT"
- A 1 in the third column for "OTYPE_TEXT", a 2 for "SHORT" and a 3 for "STEXT"
- under "Line break" select "SHORT" in the third column
- under "Field label" select "STEXT" in the first column
Enter an "A*" or "B*" for the description of relationships, this will ensure that all relationships with the corresponding texts will be displayed in the overview area.
Standard settings
In the SAP standard system, the data sets STANDARD, RHCGROUP and WORKFORCE are specified. RHCGROUP is used in Training and Event Management, WORKFORCE in Shift Planning.
Activities
- Check the standard settings. If you require a data set of your own, we recommend that you copy an existing data set and adjust it to suit your requirements.
- Create a new data set, if required.
- Edit the descriptions of objects. Enter the data set and object type. You can make the generic entry "*" for object type, do so if following entries are to apply to all object types. .
Make the following entries:
- For each text module, you can specify a sequence in which the texts are to appear in the detail area, the overview area and the info window.
- For each view, you can choose whether the field label is to be shown.
- Select "Line break" if several text modules are to be displayed, but are not to appear on the same line. If, for example, "holder of a position" is to be displayed and there is more than one holder, selecting "Line break" would ensure that the holders are displayed on seperate lines.
- Edit the descriptions of a relationship. Enter the data set and subtype of the relationship. You can enter "A*" or "B*" for subtypes, do so if following entries are to apply to all relationship types.
You can specify for every relationship, whether the relationship abbreviation or the relationship text is to appear first in the overview area.
Further notes
The text modules that can appear in Structural Graphics as information on objects or functions are defined in cross-client tables. In these tables, you can set the database fields of infotypes or subtypes that are to be displayed. By assigning function modules information can be displayed in the form of your choice.
