Use

In this IMG activity, you specify a profile. A role profile groups roles from the SAP Enterprise Portal that are available in the portal under a unique key in the SAP system. A role profile always refers to a collaboration room template. Unlike roles in the SAP Enterprise Portal, the names of role profiles are language-dependent.

If you want to use a template from the Enterprise Portal, you must create role profiles for this template, which in turn contain the SAP Enterprise Portal roles used.

You should create at least two role profiles for each template: one profile that contains the participant roles, and a second profile for the administrator roles.

The role profile with the lowest key is the default profile for the participant. The role profile with the highest key is the default profile for the administrator. Note the sequence of the role profiles. SAP recommends that you create the profiles for participants before the profiles for the administrator.

Role profiles are used in the infotypes Add Collaboration Room (5045) and Add Collaboration Room Template (5046). You can specify in infotype 5045, for example, which role profile is allocated to a learner who books a course. If you do so, the SAP system adds the learner including all of the roles in the role profile to the collaboration room when a booking is made.

Example

A collaboration room template contains the following roles:

  • Administrator
  • Member Administrator
  • Member

Create the role profiles Participant and Administrator for this template, and enter a key of your choice. Then, to assign new roles, select each entry individually and choose the node Roles in the right screen area. Assign the role profile Administrator the roles Administrator and Member Administrator, and assign the role Member to the role profile Participant.
