In this step, you define stocks units to:
- Uniquely identify securities.
- Determine whether an LTI plan is pre-split or post-split at a given date in case of a stock split.
Requirements
Standard settings
The SAP System is shipped with a set of sample units that you can change to meet your company-specific requirements.
Recommendation
Determine what types of securities are processed in your system. An initial stock unit is always required for all securities. In case of a stock split, you must define a post-split unit.
Activities
- Choose New entries.
- Enter a 4-character stock unit number and a description.
- Assign the stock unit to the relevant ID number (An ID number uniquely identifies a security.).
- Save your entries.
Further notes
In the SAP System, you perform stock splits by means of report Convert Infotype 0761 after Stock Split, which delimits the existing records in infotype LTI Grant (0761) and creates new ones containing the new stock unit and number of awards. In parallel, you also convert the corresponding budgets accordingly using report Convert Budget Stock Unit.
