In this step, you define rules for measuring employee performance based on appraisal results. For this purpose, you can retrieve the relevant appraisal criteria from either the old appraisal infotypes (0025 and 1045) or the Management by Objectives component.

Example

An employee is eligible for a specific compensation plan if his/her appraisal result is between 3 and 10.

Requirements

To retrieve the necessary appraisal criteria, either the old appraisal system or the Management by Objectives component must have been implemented successfully.

Determine the criteria that are required in your organization.

Activities

  1. Select the relevant compensation area.
  2. Choose New entries.
  3. Enter a 4-character code and a description.
  4. Enter a lower limit and an upper limit for the appraisal result if required. If not filled, no limits are applicable.
  5. Set the key date for appraisal evaluation earlier if necessary. If specified, the appraisal key date is the key date for eligibility checks minus the period you have specified. If left empty, however, the key date for eligibility checks is used instead.
  6. To retrieve the appraisal data, select:
    • Either the No MBO Appraisals option if you want to use the old appraisal system. If you have selected a template, the data is retrieved from infotype 1045, otherwise it is read from infotype 0025.
    • Or the MBO Appraisals Used option to retrieve the appraisal criteria from the Management by Objectives component and use the F4 help to specify the relevant parameters.
  7. Save your entries.
