In this IMG activity you check the status profiles of the object types for the injury/illness log. If necessary, you also supplement the user statuses.
Status profiles are part of the status networks supplied by SAP for release processes in the injury/illness log.
Note
You can also edit the status profiles for other SAP EH&S object types, not just the settings for the injury/illness log. For more information, see the specific documentation in Customizing for the relevant component, such as the Specification Master section in Product Safety, or the Status Management section in Industrial Hygiene and Safety.
Background Information
All the statuses used for an object type form a status network. Status networks are predefined by SAP and can consist purely of system statuses, or may also contain status profiles. Status profiles are made up of user statuses.
System statuses are implemented in a fixed manner. You cannot make any changes to them.
User statuses are intended to supplement the status network flexibly, and can be tailored to your requirements. You can change, delete and create new user statuses.
The user statuses assigned to an object type form a closed chain, the status profile. The status profile cannot be interrupted by system statuses.
Standard settings
SAP supplies the status profile EHS_FAL1 for the Injury/Illness Log object type.
Note:
Only one status profile can be activated per object type, even if the status profile is not being used in the status network and no user status is defined (see also the IMG activity Activate Status Profiles).
To ensure that the user status for a status profile can be used in the status network, it must be possible to insert the status profile at a predefined position in the status network. In the injury/illness log, this "insertion point" is implemented as follows:
Insertion Point between Statuses
IP (in process) and CL (closed)
The status profiles are delivered empty - in other words, without user statuses.
Activities
Edit the status profiles that are connected to a status network. If necessary, also edit the user statuses. If you want to define a new user status for a status profile, proceed as follows:
- Call the detailed data for the relevant status profile.
The Change Status Profile: User Status screen appears.
- In the Status column, enter a language-dependent ID for the user status. In the Short Text column, enter the description.
- Enter a position.
- In the Priority column, enter the value 1.
Make sure that you have entered the value 1 for all the statuses in the status profile.
Important: Only edit the columns given above. Leave the other columns empty.
- Check the object type assignment for the status profile by choosing
Object types.
Further notes
To access an overview of the settings that you have made for a status profile, choose Extras -> Status profile info.
