Use
In this IMG activity, you specify the number ranges that you use when you assign keys for injury/illness log entries.
A number range interval is assigned to each number range and defines the character strings that are permitted when assigning keys.
There are two ways of assigning keys:
- Internally (automatic assignment when the data record is saved)
- Externally (the user or an external system assigns the key)
Requirements
You are authorized to edit the number range object CBIHN_FAID. The authorization is checked in the authorization object S_NUMBER (Number Range Maintenance).
Standard settings
The standard shipment contains the number range object Injury/Illness Log Key (CBIHN_FAID).
Activities
- Create internal and external number range intervals according to the following mandatory rules:
- Number range number 0I for internal number assignment by the SAP system
- Number range number 0E for external number assignment by the user or an external system
- Enter the relevant intervals.
Further notes
If you want to check and format the keys for entries in the injury/illness log in accordance with your requirements, you can develop an enhancement. The user exit category FAL_SCATCH with the user exit name FALID (check key for injury/illness log entry) is available for this purpose (see Manage User Exits).
Transport Tips
You can transport number range objects as follows:
On the EHS:Number Range Objects for Injury/Illness Log screen, choose Interval -> Transport.
Note that in the target system, all intervals of the selected number range object are deleted first, so that only the exported intervals are available after the import. The number range statuses are imported with the value they have at the time of export.
