Use

This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Recipe Management (PLM-RM) component.

When you open the Composition formula view and it is not ready for input, the system determines the composition of the primary output. To do this, it performs a formula explosion in which, in the standard system, it also uses the compositions that were entered in the property tree for the specifications of the substances determined. It is possible that these compositions were entered in units of measure that are not permitted in the Composition formula view. Only the units of measure that you defined in Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Define Allowed Units of Measure are permitted there.

You use this BAdI to convert units of measure from the composition of a specification to one of the units of measure that are allowed in the Composition formula view.

Standard settings

A default implementation is supplied. It executes the following steps:

  1. If the unit of measure for the composition of the specification in the Composition formula view is allowed, conversion does not take place.
  2. If the unit of measure for the composition of the specification in the Composition formula view is not allowed, the system tries to convert to the default unit of measure for the Composition formula view.
  3. If this is not possible, the system tries to convert to any unit of measure that is allowed in the Composition formula view.
  4. If the unit of measure for the composition of the specification cannot be converted to a unit of measure that is allowed in the Composition formula view, the system writes an error message to the application log. The system then displays the component in the Composition formula view, but without a quantity, upper limit, lower limit, or unit of measure.

If conversion is possible, the system converts quantity, upper limit, and lower limit.

Activities

After you call the IMG activity, the system displays a dialog box where you enter a name for the implementation.

If implementations of this Business Add-In have already been created, the system displays them in a dialog box. You then choose one of them by choosing Create, and continue as follows:

  1. In the dialog box, enter a name for the implementation of the Add-In and choose Create.
The system displays the initial screen for creating Business Add-In implementations.
  2. On this screen, enter a short description for your implementation in the Implementation Short Text field.
  3. If you choose the Interface tab, you will notice that the system has populated the Name of the Implementing Class field automatically, by assigning a class name based on the name of your implementation.
  4. Save your entries and assign the Add-In to a package.
  5. To edit a method, double-click its name.
  6. Enter your implementation code between the method <Interface Name>~<Name of Method>. and endmethod. statements.
  7. Save and activate your code. Navigate back to the Change Implementation screen.
Note: You can also create an implementation for an Add-In and not activate it until later. If you want to do this, do not perform the following step:
  8. Choose Activate.
When the application program is executed, the code you created is run through.
