This IMG activity is only relevant for loans that are based on the product categories Consumer Loans (340) or Installment Loans (360).
In this IMG activity you define the prefix for products and product attributes. Using the prefix and a number assigned internally, the system creates an internal product ID for products and an attribute ID for product attributes.
Note
A maximum of one prefix exists for a client in a system at any one time.
Requirements
Standard settings
In the standard system, the prefix field is empty. You can only create products and product attributes after you have defined a prefix.
The following naming conventions apply:
SAP namespace: SAP [System name][Client]
Customer namespace: First letter Z or Y
Partner namespace: Prefix begins and ends with a forward slash.
Activities
- Create a prefix in the corresponding namespace or change the existing prefix, where applicable.
If you change the prefix, this only affects the key for products or attributes that are created after the change has been made. Products and attributes that already exist in the system retain their key, which was formed using the prefix that was valid at the time they were created.
- Before the transport takes place, check whether attributes or products exist in the target system that have the same prefix in the key as attributes or products in the source system. This could lead to data inconsistencies in the target system.
